What is Invisalign?

Looking for options to straighten your teeth and improve your smile? Invisalign is now the leading straightening solution. In contrast to braces, Invisalign clear aligners are removable and practically invisible. That means there’s no need to change your dental hygiene routine, and you can continue eating all your favourite foods. Invisalign is also a lot more appealing to teenagers and adults who may be concerned with the look of braces.

Read on to learn about how Invisalign could work for you.

How does it work?

Invisalign is a clear, removable set of aligners made from BPA-free plastic designed to treat mild to moderate orthodontic problems. The aligners fit tightly over your teeth and apply constant pressure, causing movement to reposition your teeth into the desired place.

What does the treatment plan involve?

On your first visit, your dentist will begin by taking 3D images or plaster impressions of your mouth. These impressions are then sent to an Invisalign lab where technicians, in collaboration with your dentist, digitally map out the desired movement of your teeth over the course of your treatment. Using these impressions, you’ll receive clear plastic aligners custom-made for your mouth.

We recommend wearing your aligners for up to 22 hours a day, removing them only to brush your teeth or for special occasions. Every few weeks, during your progress check-ups, your dentist will fit you with your next set of aligners, ensuring constant progress towards your goal.

Is it important to follow my treatment plan?

Invisalign is a significant investment and commitment to achieving a straighter smile, and we want to ensure you’re happy with the results of your treatment. This means committing to regular check-ups and following your treatment plan for the best results.

Is Invisalign right for me?

Although Invisalign may seem like the perfect option, there are several factors to discuss with your dentist before treatment, including the severity of your dental condition, along with lifestyle factors and personal preferences.
